ZombMe

ZombMe is a 2D platformer based on old-school platformers with influences and callbacks to Mario, Sonic, Bonk, Bionic Commando, MetalStorm, and Mega Man. The hook with ZombMe, though, is that you're a zombie who is trying to stay DEAD--so the traditional gameplay mechanics of needing health is reversed: catching fire and jumping on spikes is good, and getting health packs is bad!

The story

You're a zombie, happily enjoying the afterlife (Resting In Paradise). Unfortunately, they've found a way to cure zombies back into humans...the problem is, you don't want to be human again! Why would you want to worry about brushing your teeth, eating red meat, doing your taxes, etc.? The good news is that they didn't manage to fully heal you--just partially expose you to the cure. So you need to find an "anti-cure" before your health fully returns and you get transformed back into a human. Keep your health down by doing things like jumping on spikes, catching on fire, and getting bitten by sharks...and avoid the health-restoring health packs and all the entities trying to turn you back into a human. Can you stay dead long enough to find the anti-cure??

Publisher's content notice

There are visual depictions of extreme comedic violence against the main character...but in his case, these are actually GOOD. For example, at the end of each level, he will get smashed, blown up, run over, etc. in order to return his health to 0 and get ready for the next level.
