Tekken 8
Tekken 8 is a 3D fighting game and the eighth main installment in the Tekken series, notable for being the first entry to debut on home consoles rather than in arcades. Built on Unreal Engine 5, the game introduces the "Heat" system, which rewards aggressive play by granting enhanced moves and chip damage while in an activated state, and replaces the prior "Screw" mechanic with "Tornado" hits. The game features crossplay across PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S. Additional modes include Arcade Quest, an online lobby with customizable avatars and tournament play, and a cinematic story mode. It is the final Tekken game involving longtime series director Katsuhiro Harada before his departure from Bandai Namco.

The story
Six months after the defeat of Heihachi Mishima, Jin Kazama and the rebel army Yggdrasil launch an operation against his father, Kazuya Mishima, in New York City. The mission fails when Jin loses control of his Devil Gene powers, and Kazuya openly reveals his devil form to the world. Seizing the moment, Kazuya announces a new King of Iron Fist Tournament in which nations must compete or face annihilation. Jin, recovering from his injuries and unable to reliably access his powers, enters the tournament qualifiers in Japan, where he encounters Reina, a mysterious student whose fighting style resembles that of his late grandfather. As Kazuya's true agenda begins to unfold and ancient forces connected to the Devil Gene stir beneath the surface, Jin must confront both his father and the darkness within himself.
