Three The Hard Way

Recognized by many as a classic of the RPG Maker genre since its release in 2003, it has 50+ hours worth of content, complex plot and a growth system similar to the SaGa series. A non-direct sequel, called The Queen's Court, was announced in 2007, though it seems to be on hiatus ever since.

The story

Aging King Carolus, who once defeated the Kaibutsu monsters and saved Durham, leaves power to three dukes with conflicting visions. Amid political turmoil, Vance, a bored bartender from Somerset, leaves home seeking adventure, gets drawn into the conflict, and ultimately becomes the nation’s hope to stop Duke Greene from using the Kaibutsu to eliminate those he deems evil.
