N00b.gg

n00b.gg is a free browser-based daily puzzle game about identifying video games from screenshots. Each day at midnight, a new heavily pixelated screenshot from a video game is presented. Players have six attempts to name the game; each incorrect guess reduces the pixelation, making the image progressively clearer. Points are awarded based on how early the correct answer is given. The game features daily streaks, experience points and levels, over 40 achievements, weekly community challenges, daily medals for the fastest correct answers, and a cosmetic shop with banners, frames, titles and name styles that are earned exclusively through play. Completed days can be replayed from an archive. The game can be played as a guest without registration; an optional passwordless account (one-time e-mail code) stores progress across devices. Real-time community statistics show how many players have solved the current puzzle.

The story

Every night at midnight, Sudo — the bot that runs the site — picks a game and blurs a single screenshot beyond recognition. Everyone gets the same puzzle and six guesses. The picture sharpens with every wrong answer, and Sudo comments on the attempts either way.
