A Tragedy in Elvish

The story

In the kingdom of Karmabüttel, elves and men live side by side, but not as equals. Once an elven island, the land was seized a century ago in a brutal conquest. Countless elves were slaughtered, and survivors were stripped of their homes, dignity, and rights. To this day, discrimination runs deep. “Elves are a blight on our kingdom! They deserve to die in the streets!” “They are beasts fit only for beating. How dare they even dress like us!” “Life as an elf is sin enough! They should suffer till their final breath.” Known as the most beautiful she-elf of her time, Mari grew up wandering from place to place, enduring cruelty and hardship at each turn. A year ago, her journey brought her to the harbor city of Elmport where she first met Uno, a gentle boy stricken with a mysterious illness and only months to live. Mari isn’t fond of humans, but something about Uno moves her. She resolves to stay in Elmport and care for him herself. One day, she overhears a conversation: Four ancient amulets scattered across the world may hold the power to cure Uno’s disease... Driven by hope, Mari sets off once again on a quest not for vengeance, but to save the only human who showed love.
